All notebooks, pages, drawings, photos, and voice notes are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. There is no server and no account requirement. iCloud sync is not available yet — it's on the roadmap — so for now your notebooks live only on the device where you created them. They are included in your device backups.

No. Transcription runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Your recordings never leave your phone. The first time you transcribe in a given language, iOS may download a language model from Apple, but your audio itself is never sent anywhere.

The microphone permission is needed to record voice notes. On some devices, iOS also asks for speech recognition permission before on-device transcription can run. If you declined either, you can re-enable them in Settings > Apps > Not Buk.

Long-press a notebook on the library shelf and choose the lock option. A locked notebook requires Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode to open. Locking uses the authentication built into your device — Not Buk never sees your biometric data.

Yes. Each notebook gets its own cover color, and you can set a photo from your library as the cover or as a paper background that shows softly beneath the ruled lines. You can also choose the paper style when creating a notebook.

Open the page and use the export option in the notebook toolbar. Not Buk renders the page — paper, text, transcripts, photos, and ink — as a high-resolution image you can save or share anywhere.

On iPhone, Quick Capture is the home screen: a big mic button that drops a voice note (with transcript) onto today's page in your diary, plus a one-line text field for quick jottings. It's the fastest way to catch a thought before it escapes.

Deleting a notebook permanently removes all of its pages, drawings, photos, and voice notes from your device. Because everything is stored locally, deleted notebooks cannot be recovered from a server — so Not Buk always asks you to confirm first.
